RIHousing’s Contractor Training Grant provides funding to help qualified contractors cover the cost of training and resources that build skills and grow their business. The program’s goal is to expand the pool of contractors who are trained and qualified to work on RIHousing-funded residential construction projects.
Applicants must identify the training and/or resources that would benefit their businesses and submit a grant application to RIHousing.
Grant funds may be used to fully or partially cover:
Applicants must provide proof of the training, including a description, dates, cost, and details about the training provider.
For construction tools, contractors must provide information on the specific store where the tool can be purchased. Contractors must confirm ahead of submitting an application that the store has the product in stock and available for purchase.
For a full list of eligible activities and program terms, see the Contractor Training Grant Program Overview (PDF).
Training must be completed and business resources must be purchased and implemented within 6 months of receiving an award.
Applicants should submit one application that covers all of the items they wish to apply for. Multiple, separate, applications are discouraged.
Program funds cannot be used to reimburse costs for training or resources
already paid for.
Awards are made on a rolling basis, but funding is not guaranteed.
All applications must be submitted online.
As a courtesy, we’ve listed some trainings and training providers that we’re
aware of. Contractors are not limited to these options and may choose other
training.
RIHousing is not connected with and does not endorse the trainings on this
list, nor do we endorse any specific training. Contractors should conduct
their own due diligence to assess a training’s worthiness.
