Developed by the ONE Neighborhood Builders, the Sheridan Small Homes is a community of five affordable, solar-powered single-family homes located near in Riverside Park within Olneyville. Each home features 2 bedrooms, 1.5 bathrooms, high ceilings and a second-floor deck. The development was constructed as part of a training program with Building Futures and in partnership with the Rhode Island School of Design and the City of Providence. The Sheridan Small Homes are Rhode Island’s first deed-restricted and Passive-House certified development. Energy efficient features such as solar panels and efficient heating and ventilation systems have allowed the homes to achieve net zero energy use.
The funding for this development came from various sources including the Homeownership Investment Fund, the Zero Energy for the Ocean State program and Providence HOME funds.
